Seo Ye Ji is making her long-awaited comeback to variety television. The appearance marks her first variety show in approximately eight years, following her 2017 guest spot on JTBC’s Knowing Bros.
The actress made a surprise appearance in the preview for TV Chosun’s Huh Young Man’s Food Travel that aired on the 23rd. The teaser showed Seo traveling to Wonju in Gangwon Province with renowned comic artist Huh Young Man. During the preview, she even danced to Jennie’s “Mantra,” reminiscent of her recent fan meeting cover performance that has already racked up over 1 million views online.
The preview captured Seo’s eyes lighting up while enjoying delicious food. Huh Young Man playfully noted, “You’re laughing at everything I say,” with the actress enthusiastically exclaiming, “I’m so glad I decided to appear on Food Travel!”
The lighthearted moment contrasts with the emotional statement Seo Ye Ji recently posted on her fan café, “Yeji Yechan,” on the 13th. She posted a screenshot of an Instagram comment where a fan had written, “Did you cheat on Kim Soo Hyun? Don’t disappoint us. I just saw the news on TikTok.”
Seo Ye Ji responded with rare candor. “I feel overwhelmed, exhausted, tired, sad, and suffocated—I’ve been holding back over and over,” she wrote. “I wish this would just stop. I have absolutely no relationship with him (Kim Soo Hyun) or his brother (Lee Love). I don’t even know why I need to explain this, but today I’m feeling really frustrated.”
