BLACKPINK member Jennie recently opened up about her future acting plans following her appearance in the HBO series The Idol.
During a guest appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show to promote her upcoming debut solo album Ruby, the K-pop star addressed questions about her acting career in an exclusive online clip from the interview.
When host Jennifer Hudson asked if fans could expect to see Jennie in more acting projects, the BLACKPINK vocalist responded with an enthusiastic “definitely yes.” She quickly added a qualification, saying, “But I wanna focus on my album just [for] now,” referencing her current priority of launching her solo music career. Fans will recall that Jennie made her screen debut with a supporting role in The Idol.
During the conversation, Hudson also inquired whether Jennie had a dream acting role in mind. The singer admitted she hasn’t defined her acting aspirations yet, explaining, “To be honest, for the past year and a half, I’ve been so focused on being inspired with this album that I have no brain energy left to think about who I wanna be.” She concluded optimistically, “Definitely more in the future for me, hopefully.”
Jennie is currently preparing for the March 7th release of her debut solo album Ruby, which will feature the singles “ExtraL” with Doechii, “Mantra,” “Zen,” and “Love Hangover” featuring Dominic Fike.
