Song Joong Ki has been appointed as a global ambassador for an international golf organization.
On the 2nd, Song shared multiple photos on his Instagram, writing, “Delighted to be a Global Ambassador for The R&A. Looking forward to the various aspects we will share with them.” The photos revealed the actor in his new role as a global ambassador for The R&A (Royal and Ancient Golf Club, the British Royal Golf Association). Song showcased his golfing skills alongside R&A members.
The R&A is a prestigious organization based in the birthplace of golf, Britain, responsible for establishing golf rules and overseeing major tournaments. The R&A has appointed Song Joong Ki along with LPGA Tour player Michelle Wie West, soccer player Gareth Bale, actress Kathryn Newton, and Irish musician Niall Horan as global ambassadors.
Song Joong Ki attended the HSBC Women’s Champions business forum, an LPGA Tour event held in Singapore since February 27th, as an R&A ambassador. In his ambassador role, Song will engage in various activities to popularize golf and expand its reach.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki married British actress Katie Louise Saunders in 2023. The couple welcomed a son in June of that year and gave birth to their second child, a daughter, in November last year.
