tvN’s upcoming weekend drama The Potato Lab has unveiled its ensemble poster, showcasing Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh in a refreshing romantic comedy.

The series follows the story of potato researcher Kim Mi Kyung (Lee Sun Bin) and principled organizational innovator So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh) in a whirlwind romance centered around potatoes. The project brings together director Kang Il Soo of Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung and Solomon’s Perjury and writer Kim Ho Soo, continuing tvN’s tradition of healing rom-com.

The newly released group poster, featuring the tagline “Never tolerate potato disrespect!” showcases the determined expressions of the research team members, hinting at their passionate dedication to potatoes.

Lee Sun Bin transforms into Kim Mi Kyung, a potato researcher who’s fallen in love with her subject matter. Her carefree and outgoing character experiences dynamic emotional changes after meeting So Baek Ho. Kang Tae Oh plays So Baek Ho, a strict principled director of organizational innovation at Wonhan Retail, who faces unexpected variables when he encounters Kim Mi Kyung at the potato research institute.

The supporting cast includes Yoo Seung Mok as the veteran researcher Bu Jae Jung, Kwak Ja Hyung as the self-proclaimed hipster Ko Jung Hae, and Woo Jung Won as Ju Seung Hee, who plays a crucial role in the teamwork. The youngster team features Yoon Jung Sub as the quiet Lee Chung Hyun, Nam Hyeon Woo as energetic newcomer Kwon Hee Dong, and Kim Ji A as Jang Seul Gi, who always dreams of switching jobs.

The production team promises that “characters who laugh and cry over potatoes will deliver warm empathy and crispy laughter, without any frustrating moments.”

The Potato Lab premieres on March 1st at 9:20 PM KST and will also be available on Netflix.
