Song Ji Hyo took to Instagram to properly express her gratitude after winning the Scene Stealer Award at the 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards.
In a lengthy post on January 30th, the Running Man star explained her flustered state during the ceremony: “I was rushing between filming schedules, barely having time for fitting, hair, and makeup,” adding, “Since the award came as such a surprise, and given my usually blunt way of speaking, I feel I gave a rather inadequate acceptance speech due to shock, so I’m writing this now.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to receive this meaningful and precious award chosen by viewers and Running Man fans. I’ll cherish it dearly,” she wrote. “After receiving such a significant award, I promise to work even harder in my role to become a ‘Running Man’ member who can bring more fun and laughter to everyone.”
The actress went on to individually name each Running Man member and thank the production staff. She gave a special shout-out to Yoo Jae Suk, writing, “Sincere congratulations to our leader, Jae Suk oppa, on his 20th grand prize!” She also celebrated her co-stars: “Congratulations to our maknaes (youngest members) Ye Eun and Kang Hoon on their Rising Star awards, and to Hyung In for the Program award,” adding, “I love and respect the ‘Running Man’ team so much.”
She concluded with a promise: “I’ll work even harder to be a scene stealer this year. Everyone, have a blessed 2025!”
At the ceremony on the 29th, Song appeared genuinely surprised by her win, admitting on stage, “I was spacing out when I received this award.” She credited her castmates, saying, “This is thanks to the members who created opportunities and guided me well. I didn’t do this alone.” She wrapped up her speech by saying, “Thank you so much for the Scene Stealer award. Happy New Year, and I’ll work hard to become the best ‘Running Man’ member next year.”
