Robert Pattinson is set to make an unexpected appearance on the hit variety show Running Man, Star News reports.
The Mickey 17 star, currently in Korea promoting Bong Joon Ho’s latest feature, found himself in an unplanned collaboration with the SBS show’s production team. After attending a screening and press conference for Mickey 17 at CGV Yongsan IPark Mall in Seoul on January 20th, Pattinson was spotted touring the historic Seochon neighborhood, where he had a chance encounter with the Running Man crew filming nearby.
While the Hollywood star never intended on starring in Running Man, the serendipitous meeting led to an impromptu filming session. The production team has confirmed that Pattinson’s segment will air in the February 9th episode.
Mickey 17, Bong’s first feature since his Oscar-winning Parasite (2019), follows an “expendable” worker who repeatedly dies and gets reprinted for dangerous missions. The narrative kicks into high gear when Mickey’s 17th mission leads to an unexpected twist—the printing of Mickey 18 while Mickey 17 is still alive. The sci-fi thriller is set for a worldwide premiere in South Korea on February 28th.
