On the December 18th episode of You Quiz on the Block, Hyun Bin appeared as a guest and shared what life is like as a husband and dad and revealed who their son resembles more.
Hyun Bin, who’s clearly in full-on doting dad mode, said, “I spend most of my time with my son now. Everything revolves around him. He suddenly got a fever just today before I came here, so I’m a little worried about him.”
He added with a smile, “He just turned two, and honestly, he looks more like his mom right now. My wife loves that he takes after her, but I wouldn’t mind if he looked a bit more like me. Not for any deep reason, but because he’s a boy! I have sharper features, while she’s got a softer, rounder look. I think sharp features might suit him better.”
Marriage, Parenthood and Growing Up
Hyun Bin got candid about how marriage and parenthood have changed him. “When you’re dating, you’re on equal footing with your partner, but after marriage, it feels like you take a step back and grow into a more responsible role. Then, when you have a child, you take another step back. It’s like I’ve moved to the back of the line, making sure everything is in place for my family. That’s when I realized—this is what growing up feels like. It’s like transitioning from being the center of my own world to someone who supports others at the center of theirs.”
Hyun Bin took a moment to gush over Son Ye Jin, leaving her a heartfelt message: “You’re incredible. I admire and respect you so much for holding everything together while I was busy with work. I know it wasn’t easy, but you never complained, and I’m so grateful for that.”
And to his son, he said, “Stay healthy, and let’s spend every day happily together with mom and dad.”

How It All Began
Hyun Bin also reminisced about how Crash Landing on You brought him and Son Ye Jin together. “That drama gave me so much—great ratings, lots of love from fans, and, of course, my wife.”
When asked about when their relationship started, he laughed, “It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when we started dating. We naturally grew closer over countless conversations and time spent together during and after filming. We met privately for various reasons—events, commercials, and other work—and it just happened naturally.”
Supporting Her Comeback
Hyun Bin couldn’t hide his excitement for Son Ye Jin’s return to acting in Park Chan Wook’s upcoming film No Other Choice with Lee Byung Hun. He even sent a coffee truck to her set, proving he’s her biggest cheerleader.
“She’s back to work for the first time since becoming a mom, and I know how much she missed acting. Watching her on set, so happy and energized, made me feel even better. It’s great to see her doing what she loves again,” he said with a warm smile.
