FT Island’s Choi Minhwan has been cleared of allegations involving visits to illegal hostess clubs and the forced molestation of his wife, as police have decided not to forward the case for prosecution.

On November 29th, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the charges against Choi for violating the Prostitution Punishment Act and forced molestation. As a result, the case will not be sent to prosecutors.

The investigation began on October 25th after a citizen complaint was filed through the public petition system. The complainant alleged, “Touching his wife Yulhee’s chest or private areas in the presence of family members violates her sexual autonomy and could constitute forced molestation.”

Earlier, Yulhee, a former member of the girl group LABOUM, raised suspicions about her ex-husband’s behavior in a YouTube video. She accused Choi of engaging in prostitution.

In the video, Yulhee said, “One day, my mother-in-law was doing the dishes, and my sister-in-law and her husband were singing with their backs to us. My husband was in a good mood, and he started putting money in my chest and casually touched private areas in front of the family.”

She added, “At that age, I didn’t even know about such places. But eventually, I realized this behavior was a habit he picked up from visiting those places, and everything started to make sense.”

Yulhee also shared a recorded phone call in which Choi allegedly said things like, “I want to go out and have fun” and “Are there girls there?”
