Lee So Ra has expressed her surprise at being unexpectedly removed from her web show, Supermarket Sora. The production company has issued a formal statement in response to the situation.
On Tuesday, the team behind Supermarket Sora issued a formal statement detailing the channel’s origins. They explained that it was established through a partnership between Merry-Go-Round Company and The Service Center to provide a range of original content. Supermarket Sora, Merry & Sigma’s debut series, ran from December of the previous year through June, attracting a robust viewership.
The statement went on to clarify that Supermarket Sora was conceived as a seasonal show, a fact that various media outlets have reported. Following the conclusion of Season 1, the production team is now developing plans for the upcoming season. In the interim, they have introduced a new show, Eun Se’s Gourmet Room, scheduled for a five-episode run. Additionally, the team is actively developing new content that will feature a variety of talents.
The team further acknowledged, “We sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings caused by our failure to communicate clearly to our subscribers before introducing new content and hosts. We are committed to improving our communication with our audience moving forward.”
Earlier, Lee So Ra took to social media with the caption, “What is this?” alongside a promotional post for Eun Se’s Gourmet Room that Ki Eun Se had shared in October. In the post, Ki Eun Se explained, “I started this show after taking over Lee So Ra’s spot on Supermarket Sora.” However, Lee So Ra expressed her surprise, suggesting she was unaware of this development, which sparked rumors about her sudden removal from the show without prior notice.
