BLACKPINK’s Lisa is making her debut in an American drama. On November 11th, HBO released the trailer for The White Lotus Season 3, featuring Lisa in her first acting role. The brief clip shows her in a hotel staff uniform, greeting someone.
The White Lotus is a critically acclaimed series that has gained a strong following. Season 3 was filmed at various locations in Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Lisa, who is of Thai origin, is using her birth name, Lalisa Manobal, for her acting debut.
Previous seasons of The White Lotus were set in Hawaii and Sicily and have earned multiple Emmy Awards. Series creator Mike White has hinted that Season 3 will explore “a satirical and funny look at death, Eastern religion, and spirituality.”
Lisa is the second BLACKPINK member to star in an HBO series. Last year, Jennie appeared in The Idol, which was featured in the non-competitive section at the Cannes Film Festival.
