Netflix’s Squid Game Season 2 is ramping up excitement with the release of its teaser posters, trailer, and press stills ahead of the December 26th premiere.
Season 2 brings back Lee Jung Jae as Gi Hun, who returns to the deadly games seeking revenge, and Lee Byung Hun as the formidable Front Man. The teaser posters capture their intense rivalry, with Gi Hun once again donning his green tracksuit and participant number 456. Standing at the forefront with a resolute expression, Gi Hun is ready to face new challenges, building anticipation for the vengeance he promised at the end of Season 1.
Meanwhile, the Front Man, who shocked viewers with his backstory as In Ho in Season 1, stands flanked by the iconic pink guards, finally revealing his masked face. His presence hints at the deeper narrative threads Season 2 will explore, including the mysteries surrounding In Ho.
The teaser starts off lightheartedly with contestants posing for photos to the upbeat sound of a robotic “Smile.” It’s soon revealed that instead of voting only after the first game, contestants must now vote after each game to decide whether the games continue. Familiar elements from Season 1, like the nerve-wracking “Red Light, Green Light” game, return, but the trailer quickly dives into chaos as the first victim falls and panic ensues. Gi Hun shouts, “I’ve played these games before!” as he desperately tries to gain control of the situation, while the Front Man watches ominously from the shadows. The tagline, “There is no stopping the game,” combined with glimpses of the diverse new cast of characters, promises a season full of high stakes and gripping drama.
The press stills further ignite curiosity. One image shows Gi Hun with a determined look, while the Front Man’s intense gaze hints at the battles to come. Fans are also eager to see how Wi Ha Joon’s character, Jun Ho, will develop after learning the shocking truth about his brother, In Ho. Gong Yoo’s Ddakji Man is also back, recruiting new contestants. Joining the cast are Yim Si Wan, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Sim, and Jo Yu Ri, along with a returning cameo from Lee Seo Hwan as Gi Hun’s old friend, Jung Bae.
Meanwhile, Squid Game Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 26th.
