Park Bo Gum transforms into a national boxing champion in the new drama Good Boy.
On August 6th, JTBC shared on their official Instagram, “South Korea’s boxing national representative, Yoon Dong Joo, won the gold medal in the men’s middleweight final. With the national anthem playing, Yoon Dong Joo stood on the podium with tears of joy. After a fierce match, he went from Asian champion to global hero, receiving cheers from the nation.” Accompanying this announcement were photos of Park Bo Gum as a boxer.
In the images, Park Bo Gum is shown in dynamic boxing poses, with impressive muscles and visible facial injuries.
JTBC added, “Let’s give a big round of applause to Yoon Dong Joo for an incredible match. For detailed match highlights, tune into the new JTBC drama ‘Good Boy’ airing later this year!” cleverly promoting the series in time for the Olympics season.
In Good Boy, Park Bo Gum shines as Yoon Dong Joo, a former boxing gold medalist who transitions to the police force’s violent crime unit through a special recruitment program. Dong Joo burst onto the boxing scene with his innate toughness and powerful fists, clinching a gold medal. However, his glory days were cut short by a single incident, leading him to start anew as a police officer.
Good Boy is a comic-action youth investigation drama about medalists turned police officers who hang their badges around their necks instead of medals, fighting against a world filled with dishonesty and cheating. The drama, set to air later this year, stars Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok.
JTBC’s new drama Good Boy will premiere in the second half of this year.
