Netflix has announced that the suspense thriller The Frog will be released on August 23rd, and has unveiled a gripping teaser trailer.

The Frog centers around the people whose peaceful lives are upended by the arrival of a mysterious guest in the middle of summer. The teaser features Kim Yun Seok as Young Ha, who runs a guesthouse in the forest. The story kicks off when Seong A, played by Go Min Si, arrives, accompanied by the ominous tagline, “One peaceful day, an unwelcome guest arrived.” The teaser intensifies as Young Ha discovers bloodstains in the seemingly immaculate room, signaling the beginning of a disturbing series of events.

The atmosphere takes a darker turn with shots of Seong A’s increasingly erratic behavior, and a scene where Sang Joon (Yoon Kye Sang) and Bo Min (Lee Jung Eun) are visibly shocked by something they witness. The teaser closes with the intriguing line, “A giant tree fell in a forest, and no one was around to hear it. Did it still make a sound?” hinting at the unique and powerful energy of the upcoming series.

The Frog marks Kim Yun Seok’s return to TV series after 17 years, joined by Yoon Kye Sang, Go Min Si, and Lee Jung Eun. Directed by Mo Wan Il, best known for The World of the Married, the series promises a gripping blend of intense conflict and emotional turmoil.

Mo Wan Il commented, “This might be surprising, but the feelings I experienced while working on ‘The World of the Married’ and ‘The Frog’ were quite similar. Both projects are like intense roller coasters, filled with suffocating tension and rushing emotions. With each scene, I was left wondering how the story would unfold next, and that’s how this work came together.”

The Frog will be exclusively available on Netflix starting August 23rd.
