Based on Naver webtoons Money Game and Pie Game, The 8 Show follows eight individuals trapped in a mysterious eight-story building as they participate in a tempting but dangerous game show where they earn money as time passes. The series is helmed by director Han Jae Rim and stars Ryu Jun Yeol, Chun Woo Hee, Park Jung Min, Lee Yul Em, Park Hae Joon, Lee Joo Young, Moon Jeong Hee, and Bae Seong Woo. Ryu Jun Yeol will play ‘3rd floor’, who receives an invitation to the show and participates in the show to get out of his debt.

Back in February, photos surfaced of Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee in Hawaii, sparking dating rumors. This was followed by controversy when suspicions arose about a potential rebound relationship with his ex girlfriend, Hyeri. The whirlwind continued with news of their breakup with Han So Hee just two weeks after going public.
On top of that, Ryu Jun Yeol faced criticism for “greenwashing.” While serving as a PR ambassador for Greenpeace, an environmental protection group, he attended a golf event, raising questions about his commitment to environmental causes.
Ryu Jun Yeol said, “Several articles were posted on online communities, and I thought it was best to remain silent rather than answer them one by one. I’ve also seen critical comments about the golf event. It was an opportunity for me to reflect on myself.”
He then said, “Since it is a personal matter, I would like to talk more personally.”
