In a recent episode of the hit series Lovely Runner, the on-screen chemistry between Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon not only captured hearts but also sparked conversations. The behind-the-scenes details of their romantic kiss scene have added an extra layer of intrigue for fans.

In the latest behind-the-scenes clip, director Yoon Jong Ho meticulously explains the choreography of the pivotal scene, highlighting three key moments: “1. Sun Jae stops as he’s about to kiss, 2. he slightly pulls away, then 3. Sol takes the initiative with a quick kiss.” This attention to detail shaped a nuanced portrayal of the characters’ dynamics.

Yoon further emphasized the importance of subtlety in the performance, advising, “Kim Hye Yoon approaches it like she’s swooping in. Just focus on this point, and it should work out.” Rehearsing the scene, Byeon Woo Seok tells himself, “Sol is an adult; it’s nothing weird,” showcasing his nervousness about the scene.

The director’s approach to adjusting the actors’ positioning for a more stable and intimate setup also stirred the actors’ emotions. As filming commenced, Yoon Jong Ho pointed out the aggressive tendencies in the scene, saying to Byeon, “It looks a bit too forceful.” Acknowledging the feedback, Byeon agreed, “I see your point.” Yoon then advised, “It seems like she’s (Kim Hye Yoon) just flustered and is taken aback. Try to keep it slow and romantic.”

The result was a heart-fluttering kiss scene that elicited explosive reactions from viewers. Online, fans praised Yoon Jong Ho’s direction, with comments like “His directing is amazing,” “Professor of the Heart-fluttering Department at Romance University,” and “He knows exactly how to drive people wild.”
