In a bold move that has captured the attention of fans and media alike, Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol have officially confirmed their romantic relationship. Amidst swirling rumors initiated by an eyewitness account of the pair in a Hawaiian hotel, the couple has stepped forward to set the record straight, emphasizing that they didn’t jump ship.

After the rumors took off on March 15th, both parties acknowledged their stay in Hawaii but remained neutral on the relationship rumors, citing privacy concerns.

However, on the morning of the 16th, Han So Hee personally confirmed her relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol via a lengthy post on her blog. “It’s true that I have good feelings for Ryu Jun Yeol, and we are seeing where these feelings take us,” Han stated. “However, I would appreciate it if the term ‘transfer (meaning jumping ships)’ was not used. We confirmed our feelings for one another at the beginning of 2024. I was told that he broke up [with Hyeri] in early 2023, but it only hit the wire in November. I’ve been following my heart based on these facts.”

Following their relationship’s public speculation the day before, speculation intensified, fueled in part by Ryu Jun Yeol’s ex-partner, Hyeri, posting a cryptic message—”Funny”—on her Instagram, leading to speculation that Ryu Jun Yeol ditched Hyeri to date Han So Hee. In response, Han So Hee took to her Instagram Story to state, “I do not fancy someone who is taken, give chances under the guise of friendship, show interest, assign roles, or sabotage others’ relationships.”

In her statement, Han So Hee apologized to Hyeri, acknowledging a lapse in judgment in response to the rumors. “My Instagram story was petty and desperate. I should have remained silent. Even though I didn’t want to see or hear about them, I couldn’t since it was everywhere. So I momentarily lost my reason,” she admitted. She went on, “I’ll apologize to her personally. I let my emotions get the best of me, so I admit I was the one in the wrong.”

Finally, Han reflected on her actions and the personal growth ahead, “Maybe my desire to always show a good side is what’s ruining me. I’ve been so focused on the outcomes that I’ve overlooked the process,” adding, “It seems it’s time for me to rediscover what I truly love and what makes me happy. I promise to return with a more mature outlook.”

Ryu Jun Yeol, too, has acknowledged the relationship through his agency. “They’ve started dating since the beginning of this year,” they confirmed, but emphasized how the relationship began well after his breakup with Hyeri.

The agency further stated, “The actors’ personal rights are being severely infringed upon due to rampant misunderstandings and speculation. We will take strong legal action against malicious slander, derogatory posts, defamation based on false facts, and infringement of personal rights.”
