On the recent broadcast of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, Kim Nam Joo couldn’t help but express her fondness for her younger co-star, Cha Eun Woo.
Sharing the screen in the upcoming show Wonderful World, Kim Nam Joo humorously recounted the reactions to her working with Cha Eun Woo. “These days, when I say I’m filming a drama with Cha Eun Woo, people go, ‘Really?’ followed by, ‘Are you playing his mother?’ or ‘Not his lover, right?’ Rest assured. I do have a conscience,” she said, eliciting laughter.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Kim Nam Joo shared, “I wondered if he was even human. So, I asked him what it feels like to live as Cha Eun Woo. It was just so surreal.”
The actress also jokingly revealed her mixed feelings about working with Cha Eun Woo, “I was happy that he was doing the drama, but also worried. How would I look next to him? So I thought, ‘I shouldn’t teach him acting. It’d be over for me if he’s good at acting too.'”
Despite her playful concerns, Kim praised Cha Eun Woo’s work ethic and personality, “We helped each other out with the acting. He’s incredibly talented and has a great character; it’s almost unfair. People shouldn’t be that perfect.”
While Kim Nam Joo showered her junior Cha Eun Woo with affection, she humorously chose her husband, Kim Seung Woo, when asked, “If you were to be reborn, would you choose Kim Seung Woo or Cha Eun Woo?” showcasing her loyalty and wit.
Meanwhile, MBC Friday-Saturday drama Wonderful World, starring Kim Nam Joo and Cha Eun Woo, will premiere on March 1st.
