Lee Yi Kyung is stepping into the spotlight as the special MC on SBS TV’s beloved show My Little Old Boy.

Renowned for their warm reception of special MCs, the “Mothers’ Avengers” offered a playful twist this time, teasing him with remarks such as “What a bad guy” and “The ultimate loser,” alluding to his role in Marry My Husband as a husband who cheats on his wife with her best friend. This role earned him the title of “national villain.”

The actor shared, “Nowadays, 90% of the people I run into react just like the moms.” He even recounted a surprising encounter with a neighbor that left him utterly speechless, sparking curiosity about the story.

On the show, Lee Yi Kyung surprised everyone, revealing a side of him that contrasted sharply with his on-screen persona. Shin Dong Yup highlighted Yi Kyung’s generosity, mentioning how he once helped a less fortunate military buddy by funding a chicken restaurant startup with his own money, totaling 100 million KRW (approx. 75,000 USD).

Lee Yi Kyung also shared a personal tidbit that amazed everyone: he hadn’t turned on his heater all winter, thanks to a “special method” passed down from his father, a former executive of a major corporation. This frugality resulted in a gas bill of just 20,000 KRW (approx. 15 USD) for the month. Hearing this, Kim Jong Kook’s mother playfully commented, “My son isn’t even that frugal,” giving a big laugh.

Fans of the drama Marry My Husband, where Yi Kyung delivered an unforgettable performance as a villain, can catch him on SBS’s My Little Old Boy airing this Sunday at 9:05 PM KST.
