ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo recently opened up about the swirling rumors linking him romantically with Olivia Hussey’s daughter during an appearance on the YouTube channel “1theK.” The singer and actor took a moment to search his name on portal sites, leading to some interesting discoveries and clarifications.
Contrary to the popular nickname “Face Genius” that supposedly followed him since his school days, Cha Eun Woo laughed it off, saying, “No, I liked playing soccer, went to academies, and played basketball during my school days. I’ve never heard (of that nickname).” Instead, he revealed his favorite nickname is “Cha-star,” a term of endearment his mother uses during their phone calls, making it particularly special to him. He also humbly bragged about his academic prowess, achieving third in his class during middle school due to his dedication to his studies.
The conversation took a turn when discussing articles about him, especially the ones about his dating rumors with Olivia Hussey’s daughter, India Eisley. Photos of them sitting together in a café in Los Angeles had sparked speculation online. However, Cha Eun Woo’s agency clarified that he was in the States shooting the music video for his first solo album’s title track. Addressing the rumors, Cha Eun Woo explained, “We were filming a dating scene. It was fun shooting with her as the music video’s female lead, and I think the photos were taken then,” dispelling any misconceptions about their relationship.
Cha Eun Woo concluded the interview on a reflective note. “I looked myself up before, but I stopped at some point. The things I saw were hurtful sometimes,” he shared. “I got to check out things about myself through this content, and I really enjoyed the creative comments and brilliant ideas.”
