Son Ho Jun has left the drama My Happy Ending in the middle of its run, following his previous exits from The First Responders Season 2.
In My Happy Ending, he portrayed Heo Soon Young, the devoted husband of Seo Jae Won (played by Jang Nara), a successful CEO battling bipolar disorder. But viewers were left reeling in episode 10 when Heo Soon Young met a shocking end through what appeared to be poisoning.
Son Ho Jun said he knew about Heo Soon Young’s death in advance and shared his thoughts on participating in the project.
“When I first received the script, I knew the character would die, but I was so attracted to him that I expressed my interest in taking on the role. I wanted to portray the tragic moment when this family-oriented man gets betrayed by someone he loves the most. Despite knowing his fate, I felt playing him would significantly contribute to my growth as an actor. I am deeply grateful to Jang Nara and director Jo Soo Won for working with me throughout this process. I believe I have learned and grown a lot from this experience.”
He also said that he didn’t know how the story would unfold after his character’s death.
“I’m also very curious about how the story will unfold after Heo Soon Young’s death. I didn’t read the script after Heo Soon Young’s death because I wanted to watch the drama as a viewer. I think I will be able to empathize with other viewers and watch the drama that way. I’m also very curious about the story that will unfold after his death.”
