KQ Entertainment, the label under HYBE and the agency of BOYNEXTDOOR, has issued an official apology regarding an incident involving a bodyguard’s inappropriate conduct toward a fan.
On December 19th, the agency posted an official apology on Weverse, expressing regret over the incident that occurred at Qingdao Airport on December 16th.
The statement reads, “We apologize to the fans for the issue that arose due to inappropriate actions by BOYNEXTDOOR’s bodyguard at Qingdao Airport. We have sent a separate apology message to the fan who was directly affected.” The agency further clarified that the involved security personnel would no longer be assigned to their artists’ events in the future.
KQ Entertainment added, “We will ensure that such an incident does not happen again by enhancing our security guidelines and providing additional training to the security staff.”

Previously, a bodyguard hired by HYBE for BOYNEXTDOOR’s security became the center of controversy when he was captured on video at Qingdao Airport aggressively pushing a fan. The footage showed a female fan walking backward while photographing the group, only to be forcefully pushed to the floor by the bodyguard. The severity of the push, which appeared to be an overreaction, raised criticism and concerns about the nature of the action being akin to assault.
