Netflix is gearing up to release The 8 Show, the first series directed by Han Jae Rim known for his notable works like The Face Reader, The King and Emergency Declaration.
The 8 Show unfolds the tale of eight individuals confined to eight different floors, where they participate in a captivating yet perilous game where wealth accumulates with time.
Based on the webtoons titled Money Game and Pi Game by Bae Jin Soo, the drama depicts the primal desires of characters colliding in a capitalist society. Director Han Jae Rim is expected to skillfully capture the dynamics of cooperation, confrontation, conflict, and betrayal among characters in this secretive space divided by an unequal hierarchy.
The star-studded cast includes Ryu Jun Yeol from The King, Chun Woo Hee from Unlocked, Park Jung Min from Smugglers, Lee Yeol Eum from Nevertheless, Park Hae Joon from The World of the Married, Lee Joo Young from Believer 2, Moon Jeong Hee from Hide and Seek, and Bae Sung Woo from The King.
The 8 Show is scheduled to premiere in 2024.
