HYBE artists BTS, SEVENTEEN, and NewJeans took home four Grand Prizes at the 2023 MAMA awards.
SEVENTEEN received five awards, including their first MAMA Grand Prize since their debut in 2015. This year, the group has sold over 15 million copies of albums, including their tenth mini-album FML and their eleventh album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, making waves in the K-pop scene.
Upon receiving the award, S.COUPS shared, “I always wondered if we’d ever get this Grand Award at least once in our career. But thanks to the CARATs, it became a reality. Thank you so much.”
Woozi said, “It feels like it took us forever to reach this point. Right from the start, we faced a ton of criticism. People would say stuff like, ‘You can’t make it with so many members.’ But we promise you that we will continue to work hard to present you with great music.”
Seungkwan expressed, “I’d like to thank Moon Bin, who had always given our team love and support,” referring to his late friend who passed away in April of this year.
NewJeans won four awards but did not attend the ceremony.
