The Matchmaker released its first teaser trailer featuring Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun’s first encounter.
Set in the Joseon Dynasty, The Matchmaker is a romantic comedy-drama, revolving around two marriage brokers helping single men and women in finding their true love. Sell Your Haunted House writer Ha Soo Jin and Memorials and Justice director Hwang Seung Gi helm the upcoming series, starring Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun.
The new teaser begins with Shim Jung Woo (played by Rowoon) shouting, “I am!,” piquing Jung Soon Deok’s (Cho Yi Hyun) curiosity. He hesitates to complete his sentence, creating an awkward silence between the two. Only after a subtle exchange of glances does he finally break the silence and drop the bombshell confession, “I have a crush on you,” catching her by surprise.
Towards the end, he is seen attempting to backtrack on what he just said by asking, “What… did I just say?,” adding to the intrigue.
The production team stated, “The Matchmaker will be a refreshing rom-com period drama that will bring you joy and laughter. We kindly request your support and love for Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun as they showcase their chemistry in the upcoming series.”
