It all changes on the set of TVING original series The Love Story of Choon Hwa (literal title) as Go Ah Sung steps down due to injury, making way for Go Ara to step into her shoes.

An insider spilled the beans on the 12th, stating, “Recently injured Go Ah Sung has officially stepped down from The Love Story of Choon Hwa. Taking her place, Go Ara has joined the production and is prepping for shooting.”

Prior to this, Go Ah Sung was hospitalized due to a vertebral fracture suffered during a personal schedule, receiving a diagnosis requiring a 12-week layoff. The vertebra is located between the lumbar and the coccyx, an area posing a risk of nerve damage if severely injured. Following medical advice, she has decided to focus on her recovery, leading to the lead role switch-up.

Go Ara will be portraying Princess Hwa Ri, the character originally undertaken by Go Ah Sung. She is a royal princess who announces strategic marriage aspirations, weaving through various romantic narratives as she handpicks her own husband.

The drama not only explores Princess Hwa Ri’s quest for love but also delves into the labyrinth of royal scheming. All while dabbling in some “R-rated historical romance.” Chang Ryul plays the role of Choi Hwan, Princess Hwa Ri’s first marriage candidate, while SF9’s Chani portrays an elite scholar from Sungkyunkwan.

The show is a creative mash-up featuring No, Thank You director Lee Kwang Young and New Nonstop writer Seo Eun Jung. Co-production credits go to Beyond J, creators of Nevertheless, and SLL, the minds behind hits like Reborn Rich.

The production team plans to wrap up restructuring soon and resume shooting.
