Netflix has confirmed the production of its new series The Trunk, starring Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo.
The Trunk depicts the peculiar marriage story of a man and a woman as they unravel secrets tied to a mysterious marriage service linked to a trunk that floated to the lakeside. The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Kim Ryeo Ryeong, a renowned storyteller in the Korean literary world known for works like Punch and Thread of Lies.
Seo Hyun Jin plays In Ji, head of a fixed-term marriage service agency named NM that fixes its clients a marriage life with their dream spouses. She unexpectedly finds herself in a marriage contract with her fifth spouse Jeong Won.
Gong Yoo plays Jung Won, a music producer who believes that all marriages are deceit in disguise. He meets In Ji, a temporary spouse chosen through a matchmaking service, and together they get sucked into the whirlpool of an enigmatic event as they discover a mysterious trunk by the lakeside.
Kim Gyu Tae, known for Our Blues, It’s Okay, That’s Love and Live, helms the series and writer Park Eun Young of Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth pens the script.
