Netflix dropped a whole bunch of behind-the-scenes photos of its new show Celebrity.
The pictures released today contrast the tense narratives surrounding the cutthroat world of social media portrayed in the series with the amicable energy on the set.
Firstly, there’s Park Gyu Young, who captured the essence of the character Seo Ari, an influencer who amasses 1.3 million followers overnight. There are also shots of Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Chung Ah, who play ex-lovers in the series. Their on-set laughter starkly contrasts the more somber scenes they share in the series.
Lee Dong Gun is seen having a serious discussion over the script with director Kim Chul Gyu, while Jeon Hyo Sung, the set jester, is seen monitoring her performance with a radiant smile. Images of the “influencer group” Gabbin members striking poses side by side seemingly reassert their hip and hot presence.
Then there are stills of guest stars Junho, Seol In Ah, Jung Eugene, and Yuqi. Junho’s surprise appearance undoubtedly stole the limelight. Having previously worked with director Kim Chul Gyu on the drama Confession, Junho powerfully wrapped up the series. The director revealed that he practically begged Junho to make an appearance, expressing his satisfaction with Junho’s impactful and efficient scene.
Meanwhile, Seol In Ah, who played actress Song Yeon Woo and the face of Hue Cosmetics, portrayed how connections with influential individuals can be stepping stones to power and influence in the world of Celebrity. Jung Eugene, who left a strong impression in the Netflix series Remarriage & Desires, appeared as Choi Bom, a top fashion model representing South Korea. Her picture with Ari triggered an explosive increase in Ari’s followers. (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi made her acting debut as Zhang Wei, a top Chinese influencer who collaborates with Ari on a fashion project.
