Arrest warrants have been filed against singer Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced today.
The pair are under investigation for alleged use of Philopon, a form of methamphetamine. Seo Min Jae posted on Instagram, “Nam Tae Hyun is a meth user, and his syringe is either in my room or in my office cabinet. He has also hit me,” along with a photo of herself and the former singer together,” in last August, which she subsequently deleted. The police launched an investigation into them for violation of the Drug Control Act after a fan who came across the post reported it.
The suspects’ pre-trial detention hearing (warrant review) will be held at 10:30 AM on the 18th at the Seoul Western District Court.
Apart from the drug charges, Nam Tae Hyun is also under investigation for suspected drunk driving in Gangnam District, Seoul. The case was forwarded to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office in March last year.
Nam Tae Hyun was a member of the idol group WINNER from 2014 to 2016. After leaving WINNER, he formed a band called South Club. Seo Min Jae appeared on Channel A’s reality dating show Heart Signal Season 3 in 2020.\
