Song Ji Hyo has reportedly requested to terminate her contract with her agency, UZUROCKS.
According to a report by OSEN on April 24th, the actress has decided to leave the talent agency and is currently planning to file a lawsuit to nullify her exclusive contract with them.
Last year in October, Song Ji Hyo signed with UZUROCKS, which also represents Jee Seok Jin, another regular member on SBS’ Running Man. The announcement had caused quite a stir, given that both popular stars were under the same management company.
However, the label got embroiled in a scandal over unpaid wages on April 5th. The company stated, “We have already disbursed severance pay and social insurance to those who have left our company, and salaries will continue to be paid to all current employees. Additionally, our artists will receive payment according to their scheduled payment dates.”
Although the company strongly denied allegations of delayed payment of wages, Song Ji Hyo appears to have lost trust in the company and has decided to terminate her contract.
The company provided an explanation regarding Song Ji Hyo’s contract termination, stating that she is still under their management. Both parties hope they can come to a settlement through discussion.
