tvN has released the first-look photos of Kim So Yeon from their upcoming drama series, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938, which will air on Saturdays and Sundays.
The fantasy action series tells the story of Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong Wook), a mythical nine-tailed fox, as he tries to return to the present time after crash-landing in 1938. The show will star Lee Dong Wook, Kim So Yeon, Kim Bum, Ryu Kyung Soo, Hwang Hee, and Kim Yong Ji.
Kim So Yeon will portray Ryu Hong Joo, the former western mountain goddess with immense strength who owns Gyeongseong’s most prestigious restaurant, Myoyeongak. She was once one of the four mountain gods, including Lee Yeon, and is known as the eagle owl or queen of the wild.
Kim So Yeon recently shared her excitement for her upcoming role in drama series Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, stating that she is a big fan of the show and couldn’t be happier to be part of it. “As a lover of fantasy stories, I jumped at the opportunity to take on the role and give it a try,” she said.
Regarding her character Ryu Hong Joo, Kim So Yeon described, ‘She is a versatile and captivating character, who is both cunning and bold, yet lovely at the same time. She exudes great strength and confidence with her gorgeous looks and excellent fighting skills.” Kim So Yeon said she even attended an acting school to perfect her fencing scene at the beginning of the series, hoping that it turned out as she envisioned.
Fans can look forward to Kim So Yeon’s captivating performance when Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 premieres on May 6th.
