Song Joong Ki’s upcoming film noir Hwaran finished filming.
Hwaran is a noir film about a young man named Yeon Gyu (Hong Sa Bin) who wishes to escape his hellish reality. When he meets Chi Geon (Song Joong Ki), who is in charge of middle management for a criminal organization, the two embark on a dangerous journey together.
Rookie actor Hong Sa Bin of A WAY BACK TO MOTHER and Save Me will team up with Song Joong Ki, who is now enjoying a surge of popularity through Reborn Rich, following Vincenzo and Space Sweepers. Hong Sa Bin will play an 18-year-old boy named Yeon Kyoo who takes himself into a harsh and brutal society in order to escape his hopeless life. Song Joong Ki will take on the role of Chi Gun, the middle boss who trusts and supports Yeon Kyoo. Joining the two will be BIBI, playing Ha Yan, the younger sister of Yeon Kyoo. Reports say she won the role against heavy competition.
Song Joong Ki shared, “When I read the script for Hwaran, I wondered how it would turn out as a live-action movie. It was one of those scripts worth producing and the kind of movie we needed in the Korean film industry. So I’m more than grateful to be able to partake in such a work. Now that the filming is over, I’m looking forward to seeing how the movie turns out,” he said.
