The Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) released the 2022 Annual Circle Chart.
This particular chart uses the data compiled from January 1st to December 10th reviews which songs became a hit and the musical trend of this year. The K-pop category showed a strong performance by 4th-generation K-pop girl groups such as IVE and NewJeans, as well as K-pop powerhouses such as BTS and BLACKPINK.
IVE, who took first place in the digital song category, ranked first with “LOVE DIVE.” They also put “ELEVEN” and “After LIKE” in 6th and 9th places, achieving a triple hit.
BLACKPINK also showed their power – “PINK VENOM” (2nd), Shut Down (7th) and Lisa’s solo song “MONEY” (8th). BTS’s “Dynamite” (3rd) and “Butter” (4th) were also seen, proving the songs’ long-lasting popularity. Then there was NewJean’s “Hype Boy” in 10th place.
The rankings from 11th to 20th are as follows: LE SSERAFIM’s “FEARLESS”; BTS’ “Permission to Dance”; Psy’s “That That (prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS)”; Nayeon’s “POP!”; NewJeans’ “Attention”; BTS’ “Yet to Come”; Red Velvet’s “Feel My Rhythm”; TWICE’s “That Feels”; Kep1er’s “WA DA DA”; and GOT THE beat’s “Step Back.”
