Hyun Bin, Park Jung Min, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been, Yoo Jae Myung, and Park Hoon will be starring in an upcoming movie named Harbin (literal title) and begin filming on Sunday, November 20th.
Set in 1909 in Harbin, the new action movie tells the story of Korean independence activists who strive to regain their stolen homeland from the Japanese Empire. Woo Min Ho of Inside Men and The Man Standing Next will helm the upcoming film.
Hyun Bin will play An Jung Geun, a lieutenant general of an armed Korean resistance group. He is expected to deliver profound emotions and vigor-packed action scenes through his character, who experiences agony and solitude while partaking in the independence movement to reclaim his country.
Park Jung Min will play independence activist Woo Deok Soon who put his country before his own glory. Jo Woo Jin will take on the role of another independence activist named Kim Sang Hyun, who teams up with An to regain their country together. Jeon Yeo Been will appear as Gong Bu In, a refined and strong-minded young woman in the independence army. Yoo Jae Myung will star as Choi Jae Hyung, a mysterious advocate of An Jung Geun. Park Hoon will play Tatsuo Mori, a young man from the Japanese Empire.
The cast members gathered in Ahn Jung Geun Memorial Hall on November 14th to pay tribute to all independence activists before filming the movie. Hyun Bin shared, “I went to Ahn Jung Geun Memorial Hall alone after I decided to star in the movie. I felt a resounding sense of admiration and thrill. I will do my best in creating the film with an amazing cast and crew.”
