CL posed for the new pictorial for Marie Claire Korea. Perfectly pulling off a leather trench coat and denim crop jacket designed by a Korean designer, the singer showed off her charisma.

In an interview that followed, CL opened up about her music life. Having released her first solo full album ALPHA last year, CL’s been focusing on performing on various stages and marking new attempts. “After I dropped the album, I’ve been putting on performances with the tunes,” she shared. “So, for me, the ‘ALPHA’ project is still ongoing.”

CL then went on to say, “The things I feel while making an album are different from the experience I get while breathing with the audience on stage with the songs. What I’m doing now is the latter. This is my favorite part of song making, so I’m having so much fun performing on stage these days.”

The artist also talked about stepping out of the system after having been in it for years. “Of course I was afraid,” she recalled. “But I think it’s a feeling that comes from wanting to do well because it’s something I love.”

At the end of the interview, CL said, “As I started working on music independently, the opportunity to experience more diverse things showed up. I hope this will broaden my horizons. Then naturally, my music will get deeper and wider.”
