TVING’s original series Island will be released later this year.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Island tells the journey of characters fighting an evil force that is trying to destroy the world. The show taps into Jeju’s traditional legends and folklore while showcasing the island’s natural beauty.
Kim Nam Gil will play a character named Pan, who is born with the fate to protect the world from evil. Pan knows that he is destined to fight evil, but how and when are the questions he is struggling to answer.
Lee Da Hee takes on the role of third-generation Chaebol and teacher Won Mi Ho who is unaware of the fate she has to face.
Astro’s Cha Eun Woo will star as John, the hipster Catholic priest and exorcist who has a calling to protect people from evil spirits despite his dark and troubled past.
Sung Joon will play Goong Tan who joins forces with Pan to fight against evil.
Island will premiere in December both on TVING and Amazon Prime Video.
