Filmmaker Lee Seok Hoon recalled working with “a couple of the century” Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin.
On the 4th, Lee Seok Hoon conducted a video interview ahead of the release of his new movie Confidential Assignment 2: International.
“This was my first time working with Hyun Bin,” Lee shared. “I met with staff who worked on Confidential Assignment and heard a lot about him. I wanted to know how he is at the scene and what he thinks is important beforehand. And when I met him in person to discuss the script, I realized that he’s a very detailed actor. He was the kind of actor who prepared meticulously, in detail, and thought through every possible scenario. He even tried to do all the action scenes himself without a stunt.”
One thing to note is that Lee has worked with both Hyun Bin and his wife Son Ye Jin (The Pirates). He opened up, “Now they’ve become a couple of the century.” He went on to say, “Actually, Son Ye Jin is more easy-going, and Hyun Bin is more detailed and delicate. So that makes them a perfect couple.”
He added, “I didn’t get a call from Son Ye Jin about working with Hyun Bin for Confidential Assignment 2, but I met her at their wedding and at other places. But actually I’m curious too. What kind of a director did she describe me to be to Hyun Bin? I was curious, but I didn’t ask.”
