Hwang Min Hyun shared his final thoughts on the first part of Alchemy of Souls through his agency.
Q1. How does it feel to conclude the first part of ‘Alchemy of Souls’?
It was an honor and privilege to be part of the show. I will never forget the experience of filming the series and playing the character of Seo Yul. I would like to thank everyone – producer Park Jun Hwa, the Hong sisters and the dedicated staff members – who helped me on this project and those who loved our series.
Q. Seo Yul is a character who struggles between his love and principle. How did you approach the role?
I thought it would be best to portray him through subtle movement and gaze as Seo Yul is a calm and collected man who does not experience much emotional intensity.
Q3. Seo Yul knew that Mu Deok (Jung So Min) was Nak Su (Go Youn Jung) from the moment he saw her and set her free for her happiness. What would you do if you were in his place?
As I think seeing her happy would make me happy too, I’ll respect her choice and cheer for his relationship with Jang Wook (played by Lee Jae Wook). I’ll stay by her side and be the best helper who is always there for her.

Q4. How do you like the ending of ‘Alchemy of Souls: Part. 1’?
It was tragic and sad, but I like how it gave viewers room for creative interpretations. I hope you stay tuned to watch the second part of Alchemy of Souls!
