With growing interest in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, actor Joo Jong Hyuk also became a hot topic.
In the drama, Joo Jong Hyuk plays “tactician” Kwon Min Woo, who continues to act against Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin). Recently, thinking that Woo Young Woo benefited from nepotism, he posted an article on the law firm’s website to expose “corrupt hiring practice,” causing outrage among viewers.
Joo Jong Hyuk went to study in New Zealand when he was in his third year of middle school and later attended Auckland University of Technology. He returned to Korea after he turned 21.
In particular, he first got into the entertainment industry by beating out 700 other hopefuls and became one of the seven to win the acting audition Kakao M held. Then in 2020, he signed a contract with BH Entertainment.
Joo Jong Hyuk made his debut in the independent film Nightmare (literal title). Since 2018, he has appeared in multiple dramas, including Clean with Passion for Now, D.P., The Veil, Yumi’s Cells, and Happiness.
In an interview in June, the actor shared, “I came to Korea to enlist, and after I was discharged, I tried to work in the field that I majored in. My major was hotel management and marketing.” He added, “I started as a bartender, and some of the customers suggested that I shoot a promotional video. I found (the craft of acting) fun, so I appeared in an independent film and became an actor.”
