Shin Dong Yup, Hong Seok Cheon, and Hani will lead the expansion of the K-variety show with the new Wavve show Merry Queer.

Merry Queer is Korea’s first “coming out” romance that features the stories of queer couples on their “coming out” journeys, whether it be revealing their “unconventional” relationships to families, friends, or the world. With the “queer-friendly” content in the broadcasting industry on the rise, Merry Queer will take this interest to the next level.

Today, the production team announced the cast – Shin Dong Yup, Hong Seok Cheon, and Hani. First, Shin Dong Yup is one of the best emcees in Korea. With his witty sense, he is starring in various shows that deal with various topics such as dating and divorce.

Meanwhile, Hong Seok Cheon was the first Korean celeb to have come out as gay in 2000. Having bravely crossed the line that the world has drawn, he has constantly broken the public’s prejudices by staying active in various fields ranging from acting and singing to hosting shows. Lastly, Hani, dubbed the “emphatic fairy,” is well known for her ability to connect with the viewers.

Wavve shared, “Shin Dong Yup, Hong Seok Cheon, and Hani will be rooting for the couples’ romance and challenges. Please look forward to the chemistry of the three who’ll support the many challenges of the couples, which are sometimes sweet and sometimes troubling.”
