Taxi Driver is getting a second season.
SBS stated on June 6th, “Taxi Driver is coming back with a second season due to its positive reception from fans. Original cast members, including Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram, will be reuniting through the upcoming sequel. The drama will begin its production with plans to air the series next year.”
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Taxi Driver tells a story about a mysterious cab company called Rainbow Taxi Company that strives to restore justice by seeking revenge on people who got away with their evil deeds. The previous season ended with the fourth-highest ratings of all SBS Friday-Saturday dramas, scoring a nationwide viewership rating of 16 percent and a peak of 18.6 percent.
Lee Je Hoon will once again play Kim Do Gi, the main driver at Rainbow Taxi Company, and Kim Eui Sung will return as team leader Jang Sung Chul. Fans are eager to see Pyo Ye Jin reprise her role as Ahn Go Eun, the brilliant hacker in the team, while Jang Hyuk Jin and Bae Yoo Ram will bring fresh laughter to the small screen as genius engineers Choi Kyung Goo and Park Jin Eon.
The production team further shared, “We are completely prepared to present a more enjoyable and in-depth Season 2 in return for your love for Season 1. We shall return with an intriguing drama where you can check the true value of a caper story. Please stay tuned for Taxi Driver 2!”
Taxi Driver season 2 will premiere in the first half of 2023.
