Lee Jung Jae’s ‘Hunt,’ Park Chan Wook’s ‘Decision to Leave’ and Hirokazu Kore-eda’s ‘Broker’ to be Screened at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival

Park Chan Wook and Hirokazu Koreeda will head to the 75th Cannes International Film Festival with their latest films. Lee Jung Jae will also be making his directorial debut through his film Hunt, which will play out of competition.

Park Chan Wook‘s Decision to Leave revolves around a detective who falls in love with a mysterious widow who is suspected of killing someone. The film features Park Hae Il, Tang Wei, Go Kyung Pyo, Park Young Woo, and Lee Jung Hyun. This year’s competition will mark his fourth year at Cannes.

Hirokazu Kore-eda‘s Broker revolves around a group of characters that embark on a journey to find a new family for a baby who was found abandoned in a box. This South Korean film features Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, Bae Doo Na, IU, and Lee Joo Young. This is the sixth time the Japanese director has been nominated for an award at Cannes.

Lee Jung Jae‘s Hunt will play at the Cannes Film Festival’s Midnight Screening section. The spy thriller tells the story of how an elite agent, who works for the Agency for National Security Planning, increasingly grows aware of his own country’s unbearable truths while searching for a North Korean spy. The film features Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung together, marking their long-awaited reunion after 22 years since City of the Rising Sun.

The actor will be making his first directorial debut at this year’s Cannes. He shared, “It is such an honor to have the chance to present my film at Cannes. Thank you for your love and support. I hope many people would enjoy seeing my film at Cannes.”

The 2022 Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 17th to May 28th.
