The sixth episode of JTBC’s Thirty-Nine scored a viewership rating of 7.7 percent.
The latest episode illustrated the desperate struggles of Cha Mi Jo (Son Ye Jin), who knelt down to protect her friend, Jeong Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do), from being heartbroken when she was having quality time with her mother.
Previously, Chan Young promised Mi Jo and Jang Joo Hee (Kim Ji Hyun) that she would enjoy her life as much as she can. However, the three friends are stuck as they don’t know what to do next. Mi Jo and Joo Hee eventually decide to take turns and visit Chan Young’s house and fill it with laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Jin Seok (Lee Moo Saeng) goes over to Chan Young’s place to move in with her. Chan Young treats him harshly, as she is afraid that she might fail to send him back. While there is a bleak silence, Chan Young’s mother drops in and Jin Seok introduces himself to her as her love interest who is currently pursuing Chan Young.
As everyone sits down for dinner, Jin Seok’s wife Kang Seon Joo shows up at the house without warning. Mi Jo gets the door, thinking that it is Kim Seon Woo (Yeon Woo Jin). Astonished to see Seon Joo instead, Mi Jo tries to keep her from entering the building. She even gets down to her knees to plead with Seon Joo to leave them alone for this once. Seon Joo leaves and Mi Jo collapses. The show ends with Seon Woo running towards Mi Jo and taking her in his arms.
The episode also left the viewers in shock as it has been revealed that Park Jeong Ja, Joo Hee’s mother, knew who Cha Mi Jo’s birth mother is.
