Chae Soo Bin made her acting debut in MBC’s one-act play Drama Festival – The Diary of a Resentful Woman back in 2014. It’s a historical romance drama about the marriage problems that a woman in the Joseon Dynasty faces. She received positive reviews for her stable acting despite it being her debut work. Chae Soo Bin once said in an interview, “I’m always left with regrets whenever I film a one-act play because I feel like there should be more stories to tell,” showing her affection for short-form dramas. In the following year, she got her first leading role in KBS’ House of Bluebird as Han Eun Soo, a girl filled with youthful and positive energy. She successfully concluded this grand 50-episode drama while actively working as a commercial actress.
Chae Soo Bin then starred in two historical dramas, portraying strong-willed female characters in both. In KBS’ Love in the Moonlight (2016), she played a girl from a prestigious family named Jo Ha Yeon who openly asks the crown prince to marry her for political reasons. She then took on the role of Song Ga Ryung in MBC’s The Rebel (2017), a character who risks her life to infiltrate the royal palace to take revenge on Gil Dong. As she did in her previous drama, Chae Soo Bin portrayed a resolute and determined female figure. She was a scene-stealer in numerous parts of the drama. For instance, there was one scene where she bites the ear of King Yeon San, who was tormenting citizens.
She played Da Eun in a Netflix Original film called Sweet & Sour (2021) and showed the ups and downs of relationships. Playing the role of a weathered nurse working three shifts at a hospital, Chae Soo Bin effectively showed the struggles that young people go through every day. Currently, the actress is broadening her career with several global OTT platforms. She is currently starring in a Disney Plus Original Series named Rookie Cops, which premiered on the 25th, as a freshman at a police university. Sometime this year, she is also slated to star in a new Netflix series called The Fabulous as a PR manager of a luxury designer brand.
Chae Soo Bin took part in some big-screen projects as well. She made her appearance in The Pirates: Goblin Flag, the first blockbuster movie of 2022. She stars as Hae Guem, a girl with an odd but bubbly charm, who later joins the pirates searching for the lost royal treasure.
