Drama Ranking for the 2nd Week of December
MBC’s The Red Sleeve ranked first for five consecutive weeks. It’s receiving favorable reviews day after day for the affectionate romance that avoids the clichés of the existing historical dramas, the actors’ solid performance, and the combination of beautiful scenery and delicate directing. KBS’s traditional historical series The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won debuted at No. 2, but many showed disappointment over the flat production without any novel interpretation. In particular, criticisms poured over the poor visual effect in the large-scale battle scenes. tvN’s Happiness ended in third place. There were some unsatisfactory reactions to the plot of the final episode as it seemed a bit rushed, but many expressed satisfaction over Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik‘s happy ending. Fourth place went to SBS’s new drama Our Beloved Summer. Kim Da Mi and Choi Woo Shik‘s bickering romance and nostalgic scenery drew positive responses. tvN’s Jirisan, one of the most anticipated series in the second half of 2021, failed to maintain its initial popularity and finished at No. 6. SBS’s Now, We Are Breaking Up also saw a steady decline, eventually landing at No. 8. On the other hand, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, Snowdrop, and Bad and Crazy will be joining the viewership battle on the weekends, drawing keen attention.
