SBS’ Our Beloved Summer released its first episode with an average nationwide viewership rating of 3.2 percent.
The premiere episode shared a glimpse of what Choi Woong (Choi Woo Shik) and Gook Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi) were like when they were in high school. Woong was seen struggling with his academics, having the lowest grades in the entire school, while Yeon Soo was topping her class with her excellence in academics. Soon after it showed their cute romance, the scene shifted to 10 years later as they shared an unwanted reunion.
When they were in high school, the two were forced to be in a documentary film together. Yeon Soo and Woong, who are each other’s total opposites, kept on bickering throughout the filming. Years later, the documentary gained unexpected popularity.
Choi Woong has grown into a successful and well-known building illustrator, whereas Gook Yeon Soo has become an ordinary office worker striving to make ends meet.
Our Beloved Summer’s cheerful vibe garnered viewers’ attention and the cast members’ chemistry received many favorable reviews. However, the filter used in the series blurring the facial features of the actors created some mixed responses.
