Lee Jung Jae discussed the success of the phenomenal Netflix series Squid Game on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Lee Jung Jae said, “When I first read the script, I definitely didn’t expect it to be this big of a success. But actually, I felt like something good might happen. But I certainly didn’t expect to be here today with you.”
Stephen Colbert asked, “You’ve been a household name in South Korea for decades. But most Americas got to know you through this show. How does it feel now, people including celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio are wanting to take selfies with you?” Lee answered, “He told me that he actually did watch Squid Game. And he also told me that, ‘you’re so lucky to be in it, and you did an amazing job,’ so it was unbelievable.”
At the end of the show, the actor explained how to do the Dalgona Challenge, holding the triangle-shaped dalgona candy. Colbert, who picked the umbrella shape, broke the candy and threw it away making audience laugh.
