BTS has been appointed as the “Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture.” As an envoy, they will attend the 76th UN General Assembly.
Today, President Moon Jae In presented BTS with a letter of appointment as “Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture.” According to the Blue House last July, BTS’ appointment as a special envoy is in line with Korea’s aim to lead the global agenda for future generations, such as overcoming the COVID-19, sustainable growth, and expanding diplomatic power.
BTS will start their activities as an envoy by attending the 76th UN General Assembly. With President Moon, they will join the Sustainable Development Goals Moment (SCG Moment), which will be held in New York next week. BTS will go on stage as a speaker during the session, and a video of their performance will be played.
“BTS has delivered messages of comfort and hopes to the world,” stated the Blue House. “Their attendance at the UN General Assembly will serve as a meaningful opportunity to expand communication with future generations and draw their sympathy on major international issues.”
