On August 31st, the production team of JTBC’s Petkage apologized for Kim Heechul’s remarks about adopting abandoned dogs. In the premiere episode, Kim commented, “Frankly speaking, pet experts wouldn’t recommend adopting a rescued one to a first-time dog owner. After the broadcast, many pointed out that his remarks could possibly lead to prejudice and discrimination against abandoned dogs. As a result, the production team issued a formal apology. On the other hand, Kim expressed frustrations over the controversy that started with his remarks and heralded legal actions against the malicious comments.
