Kim Seon Ho, who went by “the idol of the theater world,” debuted on the small screen with KBS Good Manager in 2017. Then, he was recognized for the performance he showed as a con artist who wakes up in the body of a homicide detective in the fantasy investigation romance MBC Two Cops (2017-2018). His chemistry with Jo Jung Suk, who played the detective, was impressive. In an interview, he said that he wanted to portray a casual and laid-back character like he does when he hangs out with close friends.
In the historical drama tvN 100 Days My Prince (2018), he took on the role of Jeong Je Yoon, a man with a brilliant gift. He gained a huge fanbase by showing his romance with Hong Shim and his bromance with Crown Prince Lee Yul. In 2019, he appeared in various works, including JTBC Welcome to Waikiki 2 and tvN Catch the Ghost. At the same time, he left a good impression on more viewers by joining KBS’ variety show 2 Days & 1 Night as a regular member.
Kim Seon Ho became a rising star by playing Han Ji Pyeong in tvN Start-Up (2020). He meticulously portrayed the successful entrepreneur’s personal and professional lives. Han Ji Pyeong, completed by Kim Seon-ho’s soft charm, gained enthusiastic support from viewers. Although he was a supporting character, he made a significant presence between Dal Mi and Do San.
After working on the theater stage for a whole, Kim Seon Ho recently made a drama comeback. He chose the TV adaptation of the movie Mr. Handy, Mr. Hong (2004), Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. It is a new romantic comedy series that drew much attention for its star-studded cast and his beautiful chemistry with Shin Min Ah. (Not to mention that the two actors both have dimples when they smile.) In this work, Kim Seon Ho plays Hong Doo Shik, a mysterious man who gets paid a minimum wage and helps out the villagers whenever they call him. Viewers’ reaction to his character, who hides his warm heart behind his cleverness, is already hot.
Kim Seon Ho shows the perfect chemistry with his peer actors in every work. I can’t wait to see his wonderful teamwork now and in the future.
Editor Seo Hayne: I like actors as they faithfully lead through their long running-time. I also like idols who accomplish everything on stage within 3 minutes.
Translator Cho EK: I’m a big fan of Korean dramas and movies.
