BTS’s “Butter” Spends the Most Weeks on Billboard Hot 100

BTS has set a phenomenal record of topping the Billboard Hot 100 for a whopping nine weeks in a row. On July 26th, Billboard announced that BTS’s “Butter” returned to No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart (released on July 31st). They added, “BTS’ “Butter” rebounds to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, from No. 7, adding an eighth week on top and tying for the chart’s longest command of 2021, first logged by Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License.'” According to Billboard, BTS is “the first act to displace itself at No. 1 with a new leader and then send the previous No. 1 back to the summit with no other acts holding the top spot in between.”

Recently, IMDb listed Park Seo Joon in the top cast category of Captain Marvel‘s sequel The Marvels, alongside Brie Larson (Carol Danvers), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan). Previously, Awesome ENT responded, “no comment” to the report about Park Seo Joon’s possible role in The Marvels. However, it seems like Park’s appearance is only an open secret with the recent change on IMDb.

 

Jo Byung Gyu‘s School Violence Scandal Is Still Ongoing

Jo Byung Gyu’s school violence controversy rose to the surface again. On July 27th, the actor’s agency issued a statement, saying, “Our company has taken legal action against the writers who spread the groundless rumors about Jo Byung Gyu. The accused admitted that the post he wrote on the internet was false during the police investigation. He has recently sent an official apology letter.” However, the poster who accused Jo of school violence refuted the statement. The agency soon released another statement and explained that another accuser sent in the apology letter. Regarding the poster, they claimed, “When the agency refused to show any leniency, he changed his words. He’s continuing to defame Jo Byung Gyu and his agency with false rumors.”

On July 28th, former AOA member Kwon Mina attempted suicide at her home. She had undergone emergency surgery, and her injury was fortunately not life-threatening. Yet, the artist still hasn’t regained consciousness. Kwon previously revealed that Jimin had bullied her during her AOA days. Recently, she came forth with her relationship with a non-celebrity boyfriend but was soon accused of cheating. Eventually, Kwon apologized for her wrongdoings and broke up with her now ex-boyfriend.
